Chimney sweep cleaning tools and equipment

If you have the chimney or you house is stove heated, you will need regular maintenance to be provided by the qualified, trained and certified chimney sweeps. If you decide to clean chimney yourselves, you will need chimney cleaning tools and equipment.

How chimney and flues are clogged

Over time, chimneys and flues will become clogged with soot and creosote that is a by-product which is produced during the incomplete combustion of wood, coal, and other organic substances. Soot and creosote can hinder the flow of heat, air, and smoke out of chimney, which reduces the efficiency of the fireplace and potentially exposes the household to dangerous gases. Because the proper flow of air is obstructed, it may be difficult to start a fire and smoke could enter the room. An obstructed chimney can cause deadly carbon monoxide poisoning. Common symptoms of CO² poisoning include headache, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, unconsciousness, and poor coordination, which are caused by a reduction in the blood’s oxygen-carrying capacity.

Requirements to inspection and cleaning of the chimney

Inspection of the chimneys and determination of the cleaning needs must be done:

  • Before the chimney is fired up for the first time after construction, renovation, repair or connection of the new equipment;
  • If flues and liners are renovated or replaced.

In operation of the chimneys their inspection must be done each four months. Also, the chimneys must be inspected no later than one week up before the heating season begins, in the middle of the heating season and within seven days before the end of the heating season.

We offer professional chimney sweep cleaning tools and equipment:

  • Lead counterbalancing balls and rubber weights;
  • A range of brushes and brush-scrapers of different sizes and forms to clean flue linings;
  • Sliding scoop;
  • Metallic cords and rods;
